Duke Men's Basketball Kicks Off Preseason Practice with High Expectations
The Duke men's basketball team, led by second-year head coach Jon Scheyer, officially started their preparation for the 2023-24 season on Monday with their first practice session. The Blue Devils are looking forward to their season-opener against Dartmouth in 42 days on Monday, Nov. 6.
Duke returns most of its offensive firepower from last season, when the team captured the ACC Championship, finished with a 27-9 overall record and went unbeaten (16-0) at home in Scheyer's first season at the helm. The returning players include senior Jeremy Roach, last year's ACC Freshman of the Year Kyle Filipowski, and sophomores Tyrese Proctor and Mark Mitchell.
Duke will begin the preseason with Countdown to Craziness on Friday, October 20 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, followed by an exhibition game against UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
